Job summary

The Pines at Catskill Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, affiliated with National Health Care Associates, seeks a dedicated Driver with NYS CNA certification to transport residents to appointments and activities. This full-time role, Monday to Friday with no weekends, offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and competitive pay in the USD hourly range.

Responsibilities include safe driving, assisting residents, and coordinating with staff to ensure timely, compassionate care for our aging guests.

Qualifications

• This position requires a valid NYS CNA certification.
• Current driver’s license with an excellent driving record is required.
• Experience in patient transportation is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments and outings according to schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of the vehicle and secure wheelchairs as needed.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic inspections.
• Keep records of trips and any incidents or delays.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation needs.

This driver MUST be a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)

This position will be Monday - Friday, no weekends!

What You'll Do:

Drivers at our centers are responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other destinations. Your friendly demeanor and reliable service will ensure residents receive the medical assessment and care necessary for their rehabilitation and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure the safety of passengers and others on the road
• Assist residents into and out of the vehicle
• Secure passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while driving
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure resident needs are met
• Communicate with administrative staff regularly to receive instructions or report delays and disruptions of service
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections, refueling, and immediately reporting maintenance needs
• Keep records of trips and behavior of passengers

Rate of Pay

USD $21.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Driver include:

• A current driver’s license with an excellent driving record is required
• Previous experience in patient transportation or a similar role is preferred
• Valid New York State certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
• Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
