POSITION: Driver / Client Transportation Specialist

LOCATION: The Wave of Clearwater – Clearwater, FL

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time or Part-Time (based on availability)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Wave of Clearwater is seeking a reliable, professional Driver / Client Transportation Specialist responsible for the safe and timely transportation of clients to and from various destinations. This role is primarily transportation-focused but also includes limited client supervision responsibilities during off‑site appointments and transport-related activities.

As The Wave of Clearwater is a women‑only facility, this position requires a female staff member to ensure client comfort, privacy, and alignment with the therapeutic environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transport clients safely to and from the following destinations:
    • Urgent Care visits
    • Emergency Room visits
    • Interoffice appointments between Wave facilities
    • Scheduled outside appointments
    • Airport pickups and drop‑offs
    • Approved store runs and client‑related errands
Direct supervision of clients during transport and while off‑site
  • Remain with clients during Emergency Room, Urgent Care, TMS, or other appointments when required
  • Monitor client safety, behavior, and adherence to facility expectations while off‑site
  • Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate leadership immediately
Candidates must be able to
  • Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols and driving laws
  • Ensure professionalism and appropriate client interaction at all times
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage tracking, and scheduling communication
  • Coordinate with Operations, Clinical, and Client Liaison teams regarding transport needs
  • Perform basic vehicle checks to ensure safety and reliability
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
  • W‑2 Employee
  • Hourly Rate (based on experience)
  • Weekly Vehicle Stipend (flat rate) for use of personal vehicle
REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Reliable personal vehicle required
  • Preferred: Larger vehicle (SUV or van) suitable for client transport and luggage
  • Active auto insurance meeting company minimum coverage requirements
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
  • Must maintain appropriate professional boundaries while supervising clients in non‑clinical settings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or client transport
  • Experience transporting multiple passengers
  • Familiarity with Clearwater, Tampa, and surrounding areas including airport routes
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS

This is a high‑accountability role. The Driver must be dependable, responsive, and able to adapt to changing schedules, including urgent, same‑day, and after‑hours transport needs. The position includes limited, non‑clinical client supervision responsibilities during transport and off‑site appointments. It does not replace or function as a full Wellness Support Tech (WST) role, but requires the ability to appropriately monitor and support clients while in transit or awaiting services. Professionalism, client safety, and situational awareness are non‑negotiable.
