Job summary

Centre for Neuro Skills is seeking a Transportation/Driver to provide patient transport to clinics, residences, and community sites. You will operate a bus with 3 steps and a wheelchair lift and Class C vans, adhering to DOT and TX DPS regulations and maintaining a safe driving record.

The role requires public safety awareness, ability to assist patients and families, and flexibility to work shifts. Benefits include weekly pay, PTO, extended sick leave, health/dental/life insurance, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent driving record and Class C license required.
• Successful completion of Pro-ACT training soon after hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification required shortly after hire.
• Relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to DOT and TX DPS rules and CNS policies for Class C drivers and submit to drug screening when requested.
• Ensure CNS vehicles are kept in safe working condition; perform weekly safety inspections and report repairs.
• Schedule and run errands; transport patients and families within shift plans; assist with wheelchair lift and multi-step access.
• Supervise staff during patient transportation to ensure safety.

As a Transportation/Driver, you will provide patient transportation and follow state law requirements for driving. Work may be performed at the clinic, residential site, and in the community and includes a majority of time spent in vehicles. The vehicles include a bus with 3 steps and a wheelchair lift and Class C vans.

Job Tasks

• Requires familiarity with and adherence to Department of Transportation and Texas Department of Public Safety (TX) program regulations and CNS policies and procedures for Class C Drivers including submission to drug screening upon request and maintaining of a safe driving record.
• Assures that company vehicles are kept in safe working condition. Conducts weekly vehicle safety inspections. Reports all vehicle repairs.
• Schedules and runs errands as needed while working within an overall schedule for patients activities and weekday activities through the shift supervisor. Transports patients, families, insurance carriers, etc., as needed. Requires physical ability to operate a wheelchair lift and climb in and out of vehicle with 3 steps repeatedly.
• Supervises staff during transportation of patients to ensure safety.

Job Requirements

• High school graduation or G.E.D. required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent driving record and Class C license required.
• Successful completion of Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) as soon as practicable after hire.
• Successful completion of CPR and First Aid certification as soon as practicable after hire.
• Relevant experience is preferred.
