Description

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Driving and Deliveries
  • Delivers goods to job sites and customers’ shops in a safe and timely manner.
    • Ensures proper documentation for deliveries, including customer delivery tickets, bills of lading, hazardous materials paperwork, time logs, route sheets, and all other DOT and company required documents.
    • Ensures signature capture at each delivery.
    • If required, driver must enter closed facilities and offload merchandise.
  • Loads and unloads packages from truck using proper techniques for safety and efficiency.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous demeanor when working with customers and colleagues.
  • Maintains a satisfactory driving record and obeys all traffic laws.
  • Works in various warehouse roles as instructed by the manager during down periods.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Performs daily inspections of the vehicle before and after operation to ensure it is in working order and safe for travel.
• Identifies and reports vehicle maintenance issues to management, including tires, oil and filter changes, and other regular maintenance.

Position Knowledge and Training

• Maintains strong knowledge of the delivery area.
• Attends all required meetings, training programs, and quarterly safety meetings.
• Maintains working knowledge of current state and federal transport regulations.

Required Certifications and Abilities

• Valid driver license – Class A or B (current).
• Current medical card.
• Certified to operate hi-low equipment.
• Ability to drive manual transmission.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to handle, install, and move materials.
