Purpose

Responsible for operating delivery vehicles or truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. Ensures compliance with safety regulations, delivers goods undamaged and on schedule, and provides professional customer service. Vehicles may weigh over 26,000 pounds and tow trailers over 10,000 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and securing products inside delivery vehicles.
• Deliver orders to designated sites, maneuver vehicles into loading/unloading positions, and ensure proper handling of goods and customer property.
• Verify order details, maintain delivery logs, and check items against invoices for accuracy.
• Serve as a customer service liaison, addressing concerns and resolving issues.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety checks.
• Use handheld devices for compliance with DVIR and HOS, except while driving.
• Maintain hours of service logs and conduct pre/post trip inspections.
• Perform credit or product return pickups and related paperwork.
• Operate forklifts or other non-motorized equipment for loading/unloading.
• Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries and participate in safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, 21+ years old, valid driver’s license, Class A CDL, with at least 1 year of delivery driving experience (2 years preferred).
• Valid driver’s license, pass MVR, obtain DOT medical card.
• Basic math and measurement skills, ability to read and speak English.

Work Environment / Physical Activity

Work involves physical demands such as lifting up to 100 pounds frequently, with some tasks requiring assistance for heavier weights, climbing, and operating delivery vehicles. Work is performed in environments with temperature variations, chemicals, noise, and dust.
