Purpose

Responsible for driving delivery vehicles and/or operating truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. Adheres to driver safety/compliance regulations, delivers undamaged goods on schedule, and provides professional service to customers. Drives vehicles weighing more than 26,000 pounds and may tow vehicles or trailers over 10,000 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. May load or assist with loading and securing products inside the delivery vehicle.
2. Delivers customer orders to specified sites, maneuvers vehicles into loading/unloading positions, and assists with unloading safely and accurately.
3. Verifies order details, maintains logs of deliveries, and checks items against invoices for accuracy.
4. Acts as a customer service liaison, handling concerns and resolving issues.
5. Maintains cleanliness and safety of delivery vehicles, performs routine safety checks.
6. Uses handheld devices to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS regulations.
7. Maintains hours of service logs and conducts pre/post trip inspections.
8. May perform credit or product return pickups and related paperwork.
9. Operates forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed.
10. Follows all safety procedures to prevent injuries and attends safety meetings.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, 21+ years old, valid driver's license, Class A CDL, minimum 1-year delivery driving experience (2 years preferred), pass MVR, obtain DOT medical card, basic math and measurement skills, ability to read and speak English.

Work Environment / Physical Activity

Work is performed in a production environment with temperature variations, chemicals, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 200 pounds with assistance. Tasks may involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling. Must be physically capable of operating delivery vehicles.
