Job summary

Vandalia Rental in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Class A CDL Driver who loves heavy equipment and road life but wants to be home most nights. You will represent the company with safe driving and excellent customer service while delivering and picking up equipment.

This role offers pay in the $28–$30+ per hour range, a monthly bonus, comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401k with full company match, paid vacation and holidays, and a fun, casual culture.

Qualifications

• Must have CLASS A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
• Able to drive a manual transmission.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Stand for long periods, often all day.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Represent Vandalia Rental on the road and on site with safe driving and excellent customer service.
• Deliver, pick up, load and unload equipment at Vandalia Rental and customer sites.
• Deliver and unload heavy steel & aluminum equipment.
• Secure all loaded equipment per company and legal requirements.
• Operate and demonstrate equipment; operate a crane truck as needed.
• Address customer concerns and questions; maintain safety and have fun.

What you'll do:

• Our CDL Drivers represent the company on the road and on site through safe driving and excellent customer service.
• Deliver, pick up, load and unload equipment at Vandalia Rental and customer sites.
• Deliver, pick up, load and unload heavy steel & aluminum equipment at Vandalia Rental SOS and customer sites.
• Secure all loaded equipment per company and legal requirements.
• Operate and demonstrate equipment.
• Operate a crane truck as needed.
• Address and answer any concerns and questions the customer may have.

Requirements

• Must have a CLASS A CDL with an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to drive a manual truck
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• Must be able to Stand for long periods of times, often all day
• Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently
• Must be able to able to be exposed to and work in: air conditioned and non-air conditioned, inside/outside environments (including changing weather conditions,) occasional noise in excess of 100 decibels, dirt, grease, oil and other non-hazardous chemical encounters, all other elements presented by the day-to-day operations consistent with a construction/industrial equipment rental company
• Must have proficient computer/tablet skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-based applications, internet and email required
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, often whole shift
• Climb as needed; in and out of trucks and on and off of trailers
• Must have a winning attitude and a desire to have fun!
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
