Job summary

Central Valley in Woodland, CA is seeking a Class A Driver to deliver building materials to job sites across Northern California. You will load/unload, secure loads, and ensure accurate delivery per instructions while providing excellent customer service.

This role requires operation of flatbeds, forklift/piggyback as needed, and adherence to safety protocols. We offer competitive wages, paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and regular night-home schedules.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Experience driving in the Bay Area.
• Familiarity with truck routes.
• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience required.
• At least two years of forklift and/or piggyback experience required.
• Experience driving manual transmission trucks required.
• At least two years of flatbed (tying down lumber and other building products) required.
• 1 point or less on driving record.

Responsibilities

• Delivers merchandise to customer.
• Counts and checks the condition of all outgoing products loaded on the truck.
• Contacts customer to ensure delivery instructions are accurate.
• Delivers orders undamaged to the correct jobsite and assisting in unloading if necessary, attending to proper un/loading sequence.
• Makes sure loads are properly secured and flagged if necessary.
• Upon delivery, offers a friendly greeting, smile, and eye contact with customers.
• Assists in the building of load including staging materials and loading trucks as needed including the use of a forklift.
• Ensures that the correct material is delivered.
• Takes a photo of the delivery and/or obtains customer signature if available.
• Provides receipt of delivery to customer.

The Class A Driver is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Commercial Driver’s license required
• Experience driving in the Bay Area
• Familiarity with truck routes

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Must be at least 25 years of age
• 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience required
• At least two years of forklift and/or piggyback experience required
• Experience driving manual transmission trucks required
• At least two years of flatbed (tying down of lumber and other building products) required
• 1 point or less on driving record.
