Job summary

Central Valley is a leading family-owned building supply company with eight locations across Northern California. We are seeking an experienced Class B Driver for our Vallejo facility to help ensure timely delivery of goods and accurate order review prior to shipment.

You will load and unload trucks, secure loads, maintain safe driving practices, and provide excellent customer service, including obtaining signatures and delivering to the correct jobsite.

Qualifications

• CDL required.
• 2 years of flatbed experience.
• 2 years of verifiable Class B driving.
• Forklift experience required.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• 1 point or less on driving record.

Responsibilities

• Delivers merchandise to customer.
• Counts and checks the condition of all outgoing products loaded on the truck.
• Contacts customer to ensure delivery instructions are accurate.
• Delivers orders undamaged to the correct jobsite and assists in unloading if necessary.
• Ensures loads are properly secured and flagged if necessary.
• Takes a photo of the delivery and/or obtains customer signature if available.
• Provides receipt of delivery to customer.

We have been in business since 1955 and have grown to become one of the largest regional suppliers of building and agricultural products in the United States. We are currently seeking an experienced Class B Driver for our Vallejo facility.

The Class B Driver is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service.

• Delivers merchandise to customer.
• Counts and checks the condition of all outgoing products loaded on the truck.
• Contacts customer to ensure delivery instructions are accurate.
• Delivers orders undamaged to the correct jobsite and assisting in unloading if necessary, attending to proper un/loading sequence.
• Makes sure loads are properly secured and flagged if necessary.
• Upon delivery, offers a friendly greeting, smile, and eye contact with customers.
• Assists in the building of load including staging materials and loading trucks as needed including the use of a forklift.
• Ensures that the correct material is delivered.
• Takes a photo of the delivery and/or obtains customer signature if available.
• Provides receipt of delivery to customer.

Requirements

• Commercial Driver’s license required
• 2 years of flatbed (strapping down) experience required
• Familiarity with truck routes
• Must be at least 25 years of age
• 2 years of verifiable Class B driving experience required
• Forklift experience required
• Experience driving manual transmission trucks required
• 1 point or less on driving record
