Job summary

Christus Health in Tyler, Texas is seeking a full-time CDL-A delivery driver to transport medical supplies and equipment to hospital locations. You will adhere to routes, maintain a regular schedule, and operate a Class A CDL.

Work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, vehicle maintenance checks, documentation, and providing excellent service to hospital staff while following DOT rules and using mobile tech for check-ins.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Previous driving courier experience preferred.
• Valid CDL in state of employment required.
• Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the largest and most complex vehicles.
• Deliver medical supplies, equipment, mail, and other items to hospital locations.
• Monitor and schedule maintenance on assigned vehicle.
• Load and unload of vehicles.
• Maintain knowledge of Department of Transportation rules.
• Safely transport supplies between locations.
• Document deliveries for check-ins and checkouts.
• Communicate in English verbally and in writing; perform under stress.
• Provide excellent customer service to healthcare facility staff.
• Perform tasks using technology (smartphone/computer).
• Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Understand basic vehicle maintenance.

Summary:

Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of essential medical supplies and various other items to support the operations of the Hospital and Health System. Adhere to the transportation routes and work alongside associates to keep daily operations on track. Required to operate a motor vehicle with appropriate licensure and maintain a regular schedule. Must hold a Class A CDL.

Responsibilities:

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Tasked with operating the largest and most complex vehicles.
• Responsible for delivery of medical supplies, medical equipment, mail, and other items to support the hospitals operations.
• Responsible for monitoring and scheduling maintenance on assigned vehicle.
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Maintain knowledge of Department of Transportation rules of the road.
• Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport supplies between multiple locations.
• Maintain proper documentation of delivery for check ins and check outs.
• Communicate in English both verbally and in writing and perform under stressful conditions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare facility staff, demonstrating preofessionalism and sensivity to their needs.
• Perform various tasks and follow processes using technology (ie. smart phone and computer).
• Excellent Organizational and time management skills.
