Overall Summary:
The Driver, CDL delivers business materials to predetermined destinations.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organize documentation and materials to be delivered; prepare and plan for each delivery run.
- Load or assist in loading the delivery vehicle according to the delivery plan.
- Deliver each shipment to the proper destination according to company policies and DOT regulations.
- Ensure that each delivery is documented; ensure that the appropriate individuals sign the proper documentation; file documentation in the warehouse files.
- Obey all laws and parking restrictions, including DOT regulations.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, immediately report equipment malfunctions to the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.
- Create delivery memorandums as needed.
- Perform daily inspections of the equipment and maintain required documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities / Competencies:
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and collaboratively.
- Computer proficiency.
- Experience with material handling equipment is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Metropolitan area delivery experience is a plus.
Salary:
The hourly rate range for this position is $21-24.00/hr. At IWCO, pay is determined by knowledge, skills, credentials, experience, and other factors. We offer comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, and more.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop for up to 12 hours.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating 3 or 4 days per week including weekends.
- Ability to grasp, reach, pull, and operate a vehicle over 10,000 pounds GVW.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials and weather conditions.
- Must utilize proper PPE including non-slip footwear.
- Valid Class A Driver's License and compliance with FMCSR.
- Pass vision tests, annual MVR checks, and have a valid DOT medical card.
