Job description

Primarily responsible for supporting the DC by efficiently delivering hardware-related merchandise to Orgill, Inc. customers. The Delivery Driver also picks up customer returns and empty totes, transporting them to the DC.

Specific Responsibilities
  1. Understand DOT regulations and safety-related functions.
  2. Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections.
  3. Deliver and unload merchandise at customer stores, by hand when necessary.
  4. Complete all required paperwork (DOT logs, Manifests, Trip Reports, Fuel Reports).
  5. Be familiar with the E-Log system.
  6. Provide excellent customer service.
  7. Manage customer merchandise in a timely and safe manner.
  8. Direct traffic in case of an accident or breakdown.
  9. Climb in and out of the truck cab several times per day.
  10. Follow directions from Supervisor.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other jobs as needed.
Required Position Qualifications
  • Current Class A license with HazMat endorsement; Doubles endorsement required.
  • Minimum of two years tractor driving experience, preferably with double trailers.
  • Willingness to work as needed, including minimum two overnight stays.
  • Excellent driving history.
  • High commitment to safety and compliance with safety policies.
  • Good comprehension skills.
  • Effective interaction with other departments and management levels.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and record-keeping ability.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Desired Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Power equipment certification is a plus.
