Job description

Position Summary:

Drives delivery vehicle to transport materials to location or at customer site that requires the operation of a crane or boom in loading and off-loading materials. Operates crane or boom on delivery truck, including rigging, planning, and hoisting of various heavy construction materials. Requires a CDL license to operate delivery vehicle over 26,001 pounds and a crane or boom operator certification.

What You'll Do:
  • Drive delivery vehicle to transport product, materials, or supplies to and from locations and customer sites.
  • Load and unload materials requiring crane/boom operation, rigging, planning, and hoisting.
  • Calculate boom/crane capacities, weights, and check clearances to prevent damage.
  • Ensure loads are within weight limits and comply with DOT regulations.
  • Address customer issues and inform supervisors of any delivery or loading issues.
  • Inspect and maintain crane/boom equipment for safety and damage prevention.
  • Maintain logs of deliveries, including weights, mileage, and locations; verify against invoices.
  • Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle for safety and compliance; report issues.
  • Plan and organize work to meet productivity goals.
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries; attend safety meetings; suggest safety improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED, two years of driving experience, and at least one year operating a boom or crane, or equivalent education/training. Valid CDL and crane or boom operator certification are mandatory. Must be at least 21 years old.

Work Environment / Physical Activity:
  • Work in a production environment with temperature variations, chemicals, noise, and dust.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds frequently; with assistance, up to 200 pounds.
  • Operate crane equipment physically, including climbing and control operation.
