Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local, home-daily routes in Sarasota, FL. This part-time role offers on-call scheduling, paid training, and a starting hourly wage of $28.50 with weekly pay.

Responsibilities include safe operation of a Day Cab tractor, adherence to DOT regulations, and delivering to local customers within 50 miles. Training provided and benefits available after eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with endorsements.
• 9 months to 5 years driving experience within the last 10 years.
• Must pass Ryder drug test, background check, and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and company policies.
• Load/unload or assist with loading if required.
• Perform safety checks and maintain accurate driving logs and records.

• Route: Local Home Daily


• Tractor Type: Day Cab


• Must be able to operate a manual transmission.


• TrailerType: Dry Van 48’ and 53'


• Equipment: Manual Pallet Jack, Lift Gate, and Hand Truck


• Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful


• Freight: Touch – Donated Goods

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age


• Pass a Ryder Drug Test


• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years


• Pass a DOT physical


• Pass a Ryder road test


• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position


• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:


• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR


• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR


• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years


• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions


• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note

Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines


• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs


• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer


• Performs other duties as assigned
