Job summary

The Maryland Food Bank in Maryland is seeking a CDL-A Driver to join our warehouse team. You will receive food shipments, verify delivery accuracy, and complete required paperwork, while ensuring food safety and OSHA compliance.

You will move inventory up to 75 pounds, assist in cycle counts and FIFO staging, help with cleaning, sort salvage, and drive delivery vehicles as needed. A strong safety mindset is essential. All positions require a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license and clean driving record required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Move inventory weighing up to 75 pounds using manual and/or mechanical material handling equipment.
• Assist in ongoing cycle counts and staging inventory in accordance with the FIFO (first in, first out) system.
• Assist in cleaning within the warehouse, per the daily cleaning list.
• Assist in sorting salvage, including produce.
• Drive delivery vehicles as needed.
• Maintain all food safety and occupational safety requirements.
• Other assigned task as requested.

The Maryland Food Bank (MFB) is a nonprofit, anti-hunger organization whose mission is to feed people, strengthen communities, and end hunger for more Marylanders. MFB does this work by expanding access to nutritious food while also seeking to eliminate the root causes of hunger.

About the position

The CDL-A Driver will be responsible for receiving food shipments, verifying delivery accuracy, and completing all required paperwork. Other responsibilities include: proper staging or storage of food products based on the source, while ensuring compliance with all food safety and occupational safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Move inventory weighing up to 75 pounds using manual and/or mechanical material handling equipment

• Assist in cleaning within the warehouse, per the daily cleaning list

Basic Qualifications

• A Valid Driver's license (CDL-A)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• No prior DUI/DWI / less than 2 points on license

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years experience in a warehouse environment
