This is an opportunity to work in a mission-driven industry supporting research and innovation.Home Base: Frederick, MD (routes across East Coast territory)Schedule: Monday - Friday (includes 2-3 overnights + rotating routes); Full-time position (40 hours guaranteed)Starting Rate: $33.51/hourBenefits: Full benefits available within 30 days of hireKey ResponsibilitiesThis position requires teams driving routes weekly.Safely operate Class A vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.Pick up, verify, and deliver loads accurately and on timeLoad and unload a variety of cargo safely and efficientlyAccurately complete required logs and transportation paperworkInspect vehicle pre-trip and perform basic maintenance as neededDrive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weatherFollow DOT regulations, schedules, and required rest periodsNavigate routes using maps, GPS, and directionsProvide courteous, professional service at all customer locationsWork collaboratively in team driving assignmentsHandle and transport animals safely and humanely, including non-human primatesAdhere to strict animal welfare standards and safe handling practicesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications & SkillsValid CDL Class A License with a clean driving recordMinimum 3 years of CDL driving experience (5 years Preferred) (Live animal transport experience preferred)Successful completion of a motor vehicle record checkAbility to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in EnglishStrong attention to detail and safety awarenessAbility to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedlyComfortable driving for extended periodsSelf-motivated, dependable, and team-orientedSolid knowledge of roadways, traffic laws, and DOT regulationsStrong customer service and communication skillsMust be comfortable working with animals of varying sizesAdditional RequirementsMay require compliance with ongoing tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing in accordance with company and regulatory guidelinesBenefitsMeal & sleeper per diemGenerous paid time offCompany-paid holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insuranceHealth savings account (HSA)Flexible spending account (FSA)401(k) retirement plan*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
