Job summary

Standard Sales Company, L.P. is seeking a professional Delivery Driver to support our Texas routes. You will verify products, ensure accurate retail deliveries, and build strong retailer relationships while navigating state regulations and safety standards.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, DOT medical certification, and a clean driving record. You will manage paperwork, assist with invoicing, and help maintain inventory and store displays across assigned accounts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify products are sold and delivered accurately to retailers.
• Build and maintain relationships with retailers and handle difficult situations.
• Process invoicing, signatures, and payment collection per policy.
• Organize daily paperwork and manage sales invoices, deposits, and inventory.
• Resolve credit issues and collect past due balances.
• Navigate assigned delivery routes and know the territory.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety inspections.
• Unload and load products safely, monitor truck inventory.
• Follow supervisor delivery instructions and merchandise displays.
• Stock shelves according to plan and maintain clean retail areas.

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for verification of products being sold and the accurate delivery to retail customer
• Build and maintain relationships with retailers and the ability to navigate difficult situations
• Adhere to company policies and laws (local, federal & state) pertaining to product invoicing, signatures and payment collection.
• Organize daily paperwork and be accountable for all sales invoices, monetary deposits and product inventory associated with the assigned delivery route
• Assist in the resolution of credit issues and the collection of past due balances
• Knowledge of market territory and ability to efficiently navigate vehicle to scheduled accounts
• Adhere to all state, federal and DOT requirements pertaining to the operation of commercial vehicles, hours of service records, pre and post trip inspections, licensing and safety
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding product freshness, rotation and handling of close to code products
• Safely load and unload product from delivery trailer
• Monitor truck inventory for out of stocks and close to code product
• Follow all product handling procedures according to each retailer's policy
• Execute delivery instructions from Delivery Supervisor, Sales Rep and District Manager
• Merchandise displays and organize inventory storage areas
• Stock retail shelves according to current shelf schematic
• Ensure proper care, maintenance and safe operation of all company vehicles and equipment
• Repair and repackage damaged goods
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with other team members
• Maintain a clean work place including tractor, trailer and designated areas at retail
• Supervise delivery assistant performance and execution when assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to use a 2 wheel dolly, wheeler or hand truck
• Good communication skills and ability to work and collaborate effectively with others
• Effective time management skills
• Positive customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Class "A" CDL license and maintain a good driving record
• DOT Medical Certification
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age

PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS:

• Customer service skills and good communication abilities
• Prior beverage delivery or DSD delivery experience
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to move products weighing up to 165 lbs
• Hang merchandise as needed
• Repetitive lifting, up to 50 lbs overhead
• Bending, pulling/pushing up to 340 pounds on a two-wheeler
• Ability to continuously stand or walk
• Ability to bend and occasionally squat
• Occasional carrying and reaching
