Job Summary

Responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer in various settings, including city, state, and job sites, ensuring safe loading and unloading of products. This includes uneven ground and may require the use of a Moffett for delivery. The role involves the safe operation of a concrete block truck for product delivery related to the company's block operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely drive trucks, adhering to DOT regulations and area roads.
• Check loads for safety and proper levels.
• Verify delivery directions with plant personnel.
• Meet customer expectations and ensure high satisfaction.
• Develop positive relationships with customers to maximize opportunities.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment.
• Maintain communication with dispatch for instructions.
• Assist colleagues as needed.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Perform minor roadside repairs if necessary.
• Promote teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Acceptable CSA score.
• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 7 years.
• High school diploma preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual skills a plus.
• Good knowledge of local traffic routes.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and outdoor environments.
• Use of protective equipment required.

Physical Requirements

• Must pass DOT physical including drug/alcohol testing.
• Ability to walk, sit, lift, push, pull, and climb.
• Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Frequent talking and hearing required.
• Ability to operate controls involving pushing, turning, and pulling.
