Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Driver Associate in the Kansas City, KS area to deliver lumber, hardware and building materials to customer sites in a courteous, safe and timely manner. You will load and unload, inspect vehicles, and maintain paperwork.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, at least two years related experience, and valid MO Class E or KS Class C licenses. The role requires lifting up to 80 pounds, strict safety compliance and professional customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Delivers lumber, hardware and building materials to customers’ job sites.

• Assists with loading/unloading, checks product quality and appearance.
• Completes shipping documents and receipts accurately.
• Maintains driver logs per regulations.
• Secures cargo with straps during transit.
• Maintains professional appearance and customer service at delivery points.
• Assists customers and stocks merchandise when not on deliveries.

Job Summary: Driver Associates efficiently deliver our products to our customer accounts in a courteous, professional, compliant, safe and timely manner. Drivers use a multitude of methods including manual lifting, dumping, and/or moffett unloading in multi-temperature environments.

Essential Job Functions

• Delivers lumber, hardware and building materials to customer’s job site;
• Reloads pickups of lumber, hardware and building materials onto truck from job site and returns them to lumberyard;
• Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition;
• Assists workers in loading and unloading trucks; Inspects delivered products for quality and damaged appearance at time of delivery;
• Ensures all shipping documents and receipts are properly completed;
• Maintains driver log according to state and federal regulations;
• Uses straps to secure cargo during transit;
• Maintains good company image by presenting a clean and neat appearance while delivering merchandise to customers;
• Assists customers and stocks merchandise consisting of lumber and building materials when not on deliveries;
• Stacks lumber in yard or in shed;
• Builds loads;
• Performs other duties as required

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
• Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
