DRIVER / ASSISTANT for our Adult Day Services
Monday - Friday, split shift/day shift

Part Time / Approx 20-25 hours per week
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour


NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!!


Rate: $16.00 - $19.00

JOB DESCRIPTION: Transport participants to and from our Adult Day Services Center and assist with daily activities at the center.

QUALIFICATIONS: A valid Maryland driver's license (Type C or D) with no points, knowledge of Maryland Safe Driving Regulations, CPR and First Aid certifications (renew as needed), and at least 25 years of age.

REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Day Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Pick up participants from their homes and escort them safely to the vehicle, ensuring they are seated and buckled properly.
  2. Operate wheelchair lifts and secure wheelchairs with seat belts and tie-downs as necessary.
  3. Drive to the day care center after pickups.
  4. Return participants to their homes, escort them to the front door, and ensure someone receives them.
  5. Perform pre-trip and weekly vehicle checks; report maintenance issues.
  6. Assist clients on and off vehicles or lifts as needed.
  7. Drive participants to appointments when required.
  8. Transport participants for field trips and supervise during outings.
  9. Know the locations of fire extinguishers, exits, and emergency policies.
  10. Be available for split shifts for morning and afternoon transportation.
  11. Complete required in-services per COMAR regulations.
  12. Perform any other duties assigned by the Director or Designee.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Be free from communicable tuberculosis, verified by testing or screening.
  • Be immune to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella, evidenced by vaccination or disease history.
  • Have no criminal convictions or history indicating harmful behavior, verified by background check within 1 month of employment.
