Job summary

Goodwill Central Texas is seeking a Driver / Assembly & Fulfillment team member for our Austin warehouse. The role involves operating a box truck, handling pickups and deliveries, and performing assembly and downstream fulfillment tasks with accuracy.

The position requires a valid Texas driver's license, 18+ years old, and prior truck-driving or warehouse experience. Strong English communication and safety awareness are essential for dispatch and daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Navigate designated routes to complete pickups and deliveries safely, accurately, and on time.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch by radio, phone, or approved digital channels regarding schedules, route changes, delivery status, and delays.
• Safely load and unload box trucks and trailers serving plasma centers, ensuring no damage occurs to materials, equipment, vehicles, trailers, or facilities.
• Secure, handle, and protect merchandise, donated goods, raw materials, coolers, gel packs, supplies, and store deliveries.
• Follow established procedures for sanitizing coolers and gel packs; accurately configure outgoing coolers and shrink-wrap completed pallets.
• Work with speed, efficiency, and accuracy to maximize organization and meet daily assembly and fulfillment requirements.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including manifests, inventory levels, quality-control logs, dispatch records, vehicle logs, and inspection reports.
• Conduct daily vehicle and equipment checks, including fuel, fluids, tires, general condition, and required pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Follow dock-safety procedures, including tire chocking, safe positioning, general inspection, and proper loading/unloading practices.
• Count incoming and outgoing cooler shippers, gel packs, supplies, stock, and unusable items; enter totals into computerized inventory records.
• Immediately communicate discrepancies, defects, damaged materials, or process concerns to the Area Manager or designated supervisor.
• Maintain accountability for assigned personal PPE and ensure proper use while on duty.
• Operate pallet jacks and other approved material-handling equipment in accordance with training and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and provide respectful, customer-focused service to donors, stores, plasma-center contacts, customers, and the public.
• Build and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with management, peers, customers, and partner sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license and a solid driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior truck-driving experience; box truck experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions, safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and established workflows.
• Strong English communication skills for dispatch coordination, customer interaction, documentation, and safety communication.
• Basic mechanical awareness for routine vehicle checks and upkeep.
• Ability to complete paperwork and enter accurate counts or inventory information into a computer system.
• Experience with pallet jacks, dock operations, shipping/receiving, warehouse logistics, assembly, or fulfillment is a plus.
• Dependable, organized, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse, dock, vehicle, or outdoor environment.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, load, and unload for extended periods - up to eight hours per shift as operationally required.
• Able to safely enter and exit vehicles, work around docks and pallets, and use required PPE.
• Able to perform repetitive assembly, sanitation, counting, and material-handling tasks while maintaining quality and safety standards.
