Job summary

Operation Food Search is seeking a Driver and Warehouse Associate to manage daily product distribution to community partners, pickups, and deliveries. You will help ensure safe handling and accurate data collection on outgoing product.

Responsibilities include operating a box truck with liftgate and reefer, loading and unloading donations, maintaining a clean warehouse, and supporting volunteer activities. A high school diploma and forklift certification are preferred; Class E license is

Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma.
At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on safety.
Current forklift certification is preferred.
Class E license required.

Responsibilities

Operate small box truck with liftgate and reefer safely.
Load and unload donation pickups and drop-offs with pallet jack when needed.
Ensure all vehicles are clean at the end of each day.
Direct warehouse operations and ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
Receive and distribute products in a timely manner.
Monitor inventory of food and other in-kind donations.
Assist with volunteer center setup and breakdown for volunteer groups.
Sort donations and inspect inventory for expiration dates.
Report expiration/best-by dates to Inventory Team.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Driver and Warehouse Associate shall be responsible for running daily distribution of product to OFS’ network of community food partners as well as making daily donation pickups, product deliveries to and from organizations and ensuring all products are stored appropriately. They will ensure that product is distributed safely and efficiently and will be responsible for the collection of data on outgoing product. Outside of distribution times, the Driver and Warehouse Associate will assist the Warehouse Manager in keeping a clean work environment and efficient operation.

Essential Functions:

Driver

Safely operate small box truck with liftgate and reefer.
Loading and unloading donation pickups and drop-offs w/pallet jack when needed.
Ensure all vehicles are clean at the end of each day.

Warehouse

Direct warehouse operations and ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
Ensure product is received and distributed in a timely manner.
Monitor organization inventory of food and other in-kind donations.
Assist in keeping the warehouse clean.
Assist with volunteer center set up and break down for volunteer groups.

Distribution

Sorting donations to ensure quality. This includes inspecting inventory daily to make sure expired product is not distributed.
Report Expiration/Best By/Sell By/Freeze By dates to Inventory Team on incoming donations.

Volunteer Support

Supervision of distribution-area volunteer activities.
Support volunteer activities in the volunteer center.
Other driver and warehouse duties as assigned.

Salary: $20.66 - $25.82

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of a high school diploma.
At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on safety.
Current forklift certification is preferred.
Class E license required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to show no license revocation, suspension, DUI/DWI, careless or reckless driving history.
Ability to connect with diverse types of organizations: schools, businesses, government, faith organizations, etc.
Ability to be on one’s feet for 4 plus hours a day.
Ability to lift 20-50 pounds.

Special Requirements:

Flexibility in working hours for occasional special events after-hours or weekend activities.
Willingness to volunteer for other OFS duties that don’t fall under regular job duties.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Safely operates pallet jack and liftgate on truck.
Food storage warehouse and walk-in cooler & freezer with mobile equipment in operation.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, both indoors and outdoors.
Minimum of a high school diploma.
At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on safety.
Current forklift certification.
Class B license or greater with air brake endorsement required.
