Job summary

Austin Powder Company is seeking a Driver Training Specialist to join the Operations team at our corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. This role ensures CDL drivers are trained with safety as a priority and DOT regulations and company policies are followed.

The candidate will develop training content, lead classroom sessions, manage training records, and coordinate travel for candidates to and from the academy while interfacing with management.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience training CDL truck drivers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop policies and procedures for the Driver Academy.
• Train drivers on DOT regulations and company policies.
• Lead classroom training using Defensive Driver Training modules.
• Oversee driver simulator training and on-road ride-alongs.
• Maintain training records and driver qualification files.
• Work with HR on onboarding of driver candidates.
