Job summary

Cardinal Civil Contracting in Kernersville, NC is seeking a professional tractor-trailer driver to inspect, drive, and deliver equipment safely to multiple job sites. The role requires a valid CDL Class A and a current medical card with DOT compliance.

You will perform daily inspections, complete logs, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting any issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Current valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record.
• Current medical card.
• DOT experience preferred, but not required.
• Tanker endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect truck for any defective items at the beginning and end of each work day per DOT requirements.
• Perform pre-start-up inspection of road tractors and equipment to ensure all fluid levels, grease, tire pressures, hydraulic lines, batteries, etc. are in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
• Have, keep, and maintain in effect a current commercial driver's license and medical card in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Perform a mechanical inspection on every piece of equipment hauled and turn in a vehicle inspection report daily.
• Complete all required documents, driver's daily log, time sheets, inspection report, etc. and submit to dispatcher each workday by 7:30 AM.
• Upon receiving instructions from dispatcher, equipment will be loaded and delivered to the job site on a timely basis.
• Report all mechanical malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
• The main mission of a tractor trailer driver is to pickup and deliver equipment to all job sites in a safe and timely manner as possible.
• May perform other related duties.
