Job summary

Capital Electric in Virginia Beach is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to check staging, load the truck, and deliver materials to customers and branch locations in a timely, professional manner.

You will drive a 20 ft box truck, perform pre-trip inspections, handle returns, and maintain strong customer relations while upholding the company’s commitment to reliable delivery and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years driving a 20 ft. box truck.
• Must pass the DOT physical.
• No traffic violations or license suspensions in the last year.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable, responsible and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• Check material in staging area and load truck.
• Create shipping manifests.
• Perform truck maintenance inspections.
• Deliver material to customers and Capital Electric branches.
• Drive defensively and adhere to routes.
• Unload and place material per customer requests.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Pickup customer returns.
• Unload truck of returns.
• Follow directions with minimal supervision.
• Be on time and work diligently with co-workers.
• Multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Other duties as required.

Summary

A Customer Delivery Driver for Capital Electric is responsible for checking and loading material onto truck, delivering material to customer or Capital Electric branch in a timely professional manner, and forming positive customer relationships to ensure the correct material reaches the customer while maintaining the reputation of providing a reliable and accountable delivery service

Responsibilities

• Check material in staging area and load truck
• Create shipping manifests

• Deliver material to customers and/or Capital Electric branch locations
• Drive truck defensively, cautiously, and respectfully to various locations
• Unload and place material where customer requests
• Provide good customer service
• Pick-up customer returns
• Unload truck of customer returns
• Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
• Be on time and work diligently with co-workers
• Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the day
• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years driving experience – 20 ft. box truck
• Must be able to pass the DOT physical
• No prior traffic violations or license suspensions for one year
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on regular basis; up to 70 lbs. occasionally
• Reliable, responsible, and a great work ethic

Salary

$18 - $23 / hour
