Job summary

Capital Electric, a division of the Sonepar group, is seeking a customer delivery driver in the Richmond, VA area. You will check and load material, deliver to customers or branch locations, and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure the correct material reaches its destination.

The role emphasizes timely service, safety, and professional handling of materials, with benefits and opportunities within the Sonepar network.

Qualifications

• 2 years driving experience with a 20 ft. box truck.
• Must pass the DOT physical.
• No traffic violations or license suspensions in the past year.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable, responsible, and a great work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Check material in staging area and load the truck.
• Create shipping manifests.
• Perform truck maintenance inspections.
• Deliver material to customers and/or Capital Electric branch locations.
• Drive defensively, cautiously, and respectfully to various locations.
• Unload and place material where customer requests.
• Provide good customer service.
• Pick-up customer returns.
• Unload truck of customer returns.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Be on time and work diligently with co-workers.
• Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the day.

Summary

A Customer Delivery Driver for Capital Electric is responsible for checking and loading material onto truck, delivering material to customer or Capital Electric branch in a timely professional manner, and forming positive customer relationships to ensure the correct material reaches the customer while maintaining the reputation of providing a reliable and accountable delivery service

Salary: $18 - 23 / hour
