Job summary

The Arc Wayne, a parent-based organization, is seeking a Driver to provide safe transportation for individuals served by the agency. You will complete vehicle inspections, record mileage, and ensure proper care and maintenance of assigned vehicles.

You will report incidents and follow NYS DMV rules and agency policies while adhering to all licensing requirements. Full-time schedule is Monday through Friday 6 am to 2 pm, with benefits including vacation, sick time, holidays, and a retirement

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass Article 19-A (NYS-DMV) physical.
• Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License that meets Agency Driver standards.
• Provides safe transportation to individuals served by The Arc Wayne.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe transportation to individuals receiving services to and from various programs at The Arc Wayne.
• Completes daily vehicle inspection checklist.
• Records accurate mileage and codes as they pertain to the use of Agency vehicles.
• Provides proper care and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• Informs the Transportation Coordinator of needed vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Monitors behaviors of persons during transport and communicates issues for follow-up.
• Abides by NYS DMV rules and The Arc Wayne policies.
• Immediately reports incidents on the vehicle to the Transportation Coordinator.
• Meets all licensing requirements and completes required certifications.
• Transports goods to and from designated locations as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

A Day in the Life of a Driver:

• Provides safe transportation to individuals receiving services to and from various programs at The Arc Wayne.
• Completes daily vehicle inspection checklist.
• Records accurate mileage and codes as they pertain to the use of Agency vehicles.
• Provides proper care and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• Informs the Transportation Coordinator of needed vehicle repairs, preventative maintenance, state inspection, etc.
• Monitors behaviors of persons receiving services during transport and communicates to the Transportation Coordinator any issues that require follow-up or management intervention.
• Abides by the rules and regulations of the New York State Department of Transportation and The Arc Wayne.
• Immediately reports to the Transportation Coordinator any incident(s) that occur on the vehicle.
• Meets all established licensing requirements.
• Completes certification/recertification process as stated in the Agency Transportation and Driver Safety Policy.
• Transports goods to and from designated locations(s) as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
