Job summary

Community Services Group is seeking a Driver to transport individuals to appointments and programs, reporting to the Program Supervisor. The role involves scheduling transportation, vehicle safety, and maintaining logs while ensuring safety and dignity for clients.

The position requires at least 18 years old and 2 years of driving experience and the ability to drive a passenger van. The team offers comprehensive benefits and a commitment to inclusive, trauma‑informed services.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation between residential homes, programs, and offices.
• Help develop transportation schedules.
• Transport individuals to appointments.
• Follow safety procedures during vehicle operation.
• Perform monthly vehicle checks and schedule inspections.
• Complete daily mileage logs and required forms on time.
• Understand motor vehicle operation and safety principles.
• Read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Assist individuals in the community while respecting their rights and dignity.
• Learn and model trauma-informed care principles: safety, choice, collaboration, trust, empowerment.
• Promote cultural, racial, language, and gender equity and inclusion.

Summary:

The Driver is responsible for transporting and/or aiding in the transporting of individuals to appointments and programs. The Driver reports directly to the Program Supervisor.

Wage Information:

Base Rate $17.00/hr.

Job Description:

• Provides transportation services between residential homes, company programs, and offices.
• Assists in developing transportation schedules.
• Transports individuals to appointments.
• Follows safety procedures at all times during vehicle operation including individuals in and out of vehicles.
• Performs an established monthly maintenance vehicle check, schedules vehicles for inspection and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and in safe condition.
• Completes daily mileage log and other required forms accurately and within allotted time frame.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of motor vehicles operations and safety.
• Knowledge of the geographic area the program serves.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Accompany individuals into the community and provide support and assistance in interactions in the community while maintaining sensitivity to the rights and dignity of the individual.
• Willing to learn and model the five principles of trauma informed care; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
• Commitment to promote cultural, racial, language and gender access, diversity, equity and inclusion.
