Job summary

National Health Care Associates is seeking a dependable Driver for The Pines at Rutland, VT. You will transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other activities, maintaining safety and compassion in every ride.

Qualified candidates have a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record, and a high school diploma or GED is preferred. A caring, professional approach and clear communication are essential to our team-oriented environment.

  • Patient transportation experience preferred.

What You'll Do

Drivers at our centers are responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other destinations. Your friendly demeanor and reliable service will ensure residents receive the medical assessment and care necessary for their rehabilitation and well being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drives residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule
  • Adheres to traffic laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure the safety of passengers and others on the road
  • Assists residents into and out of vehicle
  • Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while driving
  • Communicates effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure resident needs are met
  • Communicates with administrative staff regularly to receive instructions or report dealys and disruptions of service
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections, refueling and immediately reporting maintenance needs
  • Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers

Rate of Pay

USD $22.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.

What You'll Bring
Qualifications of a Driver include
  • Current driver’s license and excellent driving record is required
  • Previous experience in patient transportation or a similar role preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
