Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Driver for our Rocky Mount, NC location. You will drive tractor-trailers, inspect loads, and unload at customer sites while adhering to DOT regulations.

The role offers a pay rate around $78,000 annually depending on experience, plus a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Day-1 benefits and a 401(k) with profit sharing are included, with a Monday–Saturday schedule and no Sunday work.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ and possess a valid CDL-A license.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient for job-related tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination following regulations and maneuver safely.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations.
• Unload trailer and deliver product to customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver:

• - Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• - Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• - Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• - Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• - Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a CDL-A Teammate:

• - At least 21 years of age
• - Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• - At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• - Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• - This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
