Job summary

Summary: Operates bus, transports passengers in a safe and timely and courteous manner, communicates with and assist passengers by performing the following duties.

Other Position Requirements

Must have a safe driving record: No more than two (2) Minor violations in the past thirty-six (36) months; No more than one (1) chargeable accidents in the past thirty-six (36) months; no Major violation in the past thirty-six (36) months. Must have never failed or refused to take a drug and/or alcohol test, without satisfactorily completing an FTA-approved substance abuse program. Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to understand street signs, maps, i.e. Thomas Guide, traffic signs and be able to satisfactorily complete reports and forms. Must satisfactorily complete and maintain the following: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) assessment, pre-employment drug/alcohol tests, pre-employment DMV physical, background investigation, acquire DM certifications: VTT as required. Sitting for long periods of time from 2, 4, 8 or possibly 10 hours a day, during your shift while driving a bus. Releasing a hand brake, turning the steering wheel, getting into and out of the drivers seat, wearing a seatbelt, assisting wheelchair passengers boarding and un-boarding a bus, securing wheelchair using a 4-point system. Must abide by all company safety rules and guidelines. Must be at least 21 years of age.
