Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Loads linen carts (up to 500+ lbs) on trucks and lines carts up for unloading.
• Delivers the correct product to customers in a timely manner.
• Performs daily visual inspections of carts and trucks.
• Ensures the correct number of empty carts are returned to trucks.
• Maintains professional appearance and communicates with customers.
• Learns all aspects of the assigned route.
• Keeps required daily and weekly paperwork up to date.
• Performs other duties as directed by management.

Job Summary

The Delivery Truck Driver loads linen carts on trucks and delivers the product to our customers in a timely manner. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Truck Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times. The ideal candidate has a valid driver's license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL), meets all DOT requirements, and is physically able to perform the duties of this position. Candidates must be able to accommodate a rotating schedule as necessary. Strong communication and customer service skills required. Does other related work as required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to the following)

• Loads all linen carts (which could weigh as much as 500 plus pounds) on the trucks. Makes sure they are properly identified by location and lines carts up in the correct order for unloading at each facility
• Delivers the correct product to our customers in a timely manner
• Performs a daily visual inspection of the carts and truck
• Ensures the correct number of empty carts are put back onto trucks
• Maintains a professional appearance and communicates professionally with the customer
• Learns all aspects of assigned route
• Properly maintains required daily and weekly paperwork

Accountability and Miscellaneous

• Performs other duties as directed by management

Prerequisite

Must have a valid driver's license and current driving record in good standing. Must pass a pre-placement drug screen as well as random testing as necessary. Must pass road test. Prior driving experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Must be able to push/pull loaded linen carts in order to load and unload trucks. Carts can weigh in excess of 500 lb.
• Must be able to safely operate a 29' straight truck as well as lift gates and all associated equipment
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Must be capable of regular, full-time attendance
• Must be capable of rotating shifts and working on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed
