Job summary

Kimball Farms Lifecare Retirement Community in Lenox, MA is seeking a courteous Transportation Aide to move residents, assist them on/off vehicles, and ensure safe transport.

You will perform light vehicle maintenance, run office errands, and assist grounds tasks as needed. CPR and First Aid certification is required; MA CDL Class II with passenger endorsement is required.

One year experience at a similar facility is preferred and you must read, write, and speak English.

Qualifications

• One year experience at similar facility preferred.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts CDL Class II with a passenger endorsement license.
• CPR & First Aid annually.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to destinations as needed.
• Make miscellaneous runs for the office (banking, printer, post office, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles daily and wash when necessary.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all vehicles and report problems to Supervisor of Maintenance.
• Maintain tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Exercise care in driving and assist residents on/off vehicles.
• Be courteous, in uniform and well-groomed at all times.
• Accomplish additional duties as directed by Supervisor.
• Assist grounds staff with snow and ice removal.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and ensure safe transport for wheelchair users and residents with walkers.
• Maintain daily maintenance log.

Essential Job Functions:

• • Maintains cleanliness of all vehicles on a daily basis; washes vehicles whenever necessary.


• • Performs routine preventive maintenance on all vehicles. Reports any problems to Supervisor of Maintenance.

• • Exercises extreme care in driving and in assisting residents on and off vehicles.
