Job summary

Kimball Farms Lifecare Retirement Community in Lenox, MA is seeking a Transport/Vehicle Operator to move residents and run office errands as needed. You will maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine maintenance notes, operate wheelchair lifts, and assist residents getting on and off transportation in a courteous, professional manner.

You will also support grounds team in snow and ice removal, keep a daily maintenance log, and follow supervisor directions.

Qualifications

• One year experience at similar facility preferred.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts CDL Class II with a passenger endorsement license.
• CPR & First Aid annually
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to destinations as needed.
• Make miscellaneous runs for the office & errands.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles daily; wash as needed.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment and supplies in good condition.
• Assist residents on and off vehicles in a courteous manner.
• Accomplish additional duties directed by Supervisor.
• Assist grounds staff with snow and ice removal.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and ensure safe transport.
• Maintain daily maintenance log.

Essential Job Functions:

• • Transports residents to their destination whenever transportation is needed.


• • Makes miscellaneous runs for the office - banking, printer, post office, corporate office etc., whenever needed.


• • Maintains cleanliness of all vehicles on a daily basis; washes vehicles whenever necessary.


• • Performs routine preventive maintenance on all vehicles. Reports any problems to Supervisor of Maintenance.


• • Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.


• • Exercises extreme care in driving and in assisting residents on and off vehicles.


• • Is courteous, in uniform and well-groomed at all times.


• • Accomplishes additional duties as required and directed by Supervisor.


• • Assists grounds staff with snow and ice removal whenever necessary.


• • Operates wheelchair lifts properly and ensures safe transport of wheelchair bound residents, residents with electric carts and residents with walkers.


• • Maintains daily maintenance log.
