Job summary

SPORTIME Randall's Island is seeking a dependable driver to provide a first-class transportation experience for members to and from the facility. You will ensure seat belts are fastened, follow safety guidelines including COVID measures, and maintain vehicle readiness.

Position is full-time, Mon–Fri, 1:00pm–9:00pm, paying $21.00 per hour. Benefits include free SPORTIME membership, health/dental/vision insurance, and a 401k with employer match after one year of service.

Qualifications

• Valid current Driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Minimum of 18 months driving experience.
• Knowledge of driving vehicles in NYC.
• Ability to operate vehicles with multiple passengers of all ages.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify problems and solutions.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods and lift up to 20lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first class transportation experience for members to and from the facility.
• Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
• Ensure students are secured in seat belts prior to departure.
• Follow safety rules during boarding and exiting, including COVID guidelines.
• Check tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, gas and oil for safe operation.
• Comply with traffic regulations and operate the vehicle safely.
• Regulate cabin conditions and radio controls for passenger comfort.
• Report accidents, delays or unusual circumstances timely to management.
• Maintain a clean van interior and exterior.
• Turn in receipts for gas purchases and maintain EZ Pass log.
• Immediately report driver infractions on or off the job.

Since 1994, SPORTIME has been proud to operate the finest tennis and sports facilities in New York State. SPORTIME’s 20 club locations most recently expanded to include the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington. SPORTIME currently offers 192 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 131 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, pickleball, sports and camp facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) and SPORTIME Volleyball Club (VBC). RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide a first class transportation experience for our members to and from our facility
• To act in a professional and courteous manner at all times
• Make sure that students are secured in their seat belts prior to the trip departure
• Follow safety rules as students are boarding and exiting buses including any applicable COVID guidelines
• Check the conditions of the vehicles tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, gas, and oil to ensure that everything is in working order
• Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate the vehicle in a safe manner
• Regulate, air, heating, lighting, and radio controls for passenger comfort
• Reporting of all accidents, delays, or unusual circumstances to the appropriate management personnel in a timely manner
• Maintenance of a clean van (Interior and Exterior)
• Turn in and initial receipts for all gas purchases
• Maintain a log for EZ Pass utilization.
• Immediately reporting of all driver infractions on or off the job.

SALARY

$21.00 per hour

Health, dental and vision insurance -Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s group health, dental and vision insurance plans on the first day of the month after they have worked 60 days. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees’ gross pay; Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.

401k with Employer Match -SPORTIME EMPLOYEES are eligible to enroll in our SPORTIME Retirement plan after they have completed 1 year of service consecutively, worked at least 1000 hours in a calendar or anniversary year and are over 21 years old.
