Job summary

Birley Bakery in the Bronx is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Driver to transport goods from the Commissary Kitchen in the Bronx to our Upper East Side locations. The role emphasizes safe, timely, and courteous deliveries with a focus on food safety.

You will drive between locations, complete deliveries and pickups, load and unload products, and maintain logs. Part-time hours include very early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with opportunities for growth in a thriving bakery

Qualifications

• Must have a valid New York State Driver’s License with no violations.
• Ability to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when being asked to complete tasks.
• Ability to operate with grace under pressure, independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Part-time availability, including very early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• On occasion, may be required to lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds; kneel, bend, ascend and descend stairs; reach and grab objects.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive company vehicles between the Commissary Kitchen, Maxime's, Birley Bakery, and other locations.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups accurately and on time.
• Load, unload, and transport products while maintaining quality and food safety standards.
• Verify delivery items and quantities and report any discrepancies.
• Maintain proper temperature control and safe food handling during transport.
• Organize and prepare products for daily deliveries.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Keep delivery logs and required records up to date.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Support the commissary team with packaging, production assistance, and other operational tasks when deliveries are complete.

Birley Bakery is the Upper East Side's best-kept secret. It's the New York sister to our celebrated London shop, known for beautifully crafted pastries, viennoiserie, and breads made only from the highest-quality ingredients. Nothing leaves our kitchen unless it meets our standards.

Our newly built, state-of-the-art commissary kitchen in the Bronx is where it all begins. From here, our team produces the pastries, breads, desserts, and fine chocolates served at Birley Bakery and Maxime's Club in Manhattan.
