Job summary

Lifestyles For The Disabled Inc in New York is seeking a part-time transportation assistant to move participants to daily community activities in company vehicles.

You will assist participants in getting in and out of the vehicle, using lifts or stairs if needed, secure seat belts, and ensure everyone is accounted for during departures and returns. You will keep the vehicle clean and report any maintenance concerns to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass all pre-employment screening exams and PPD test.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with professional transportation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transports participants using company vehicle to daily community activities.
• Assists participants in and out of the vehicle, utilizing wheelchair lift and/or stairs if needed.
• Ensures residents are safely seated with seat belts secured.
• Keeps the vehicle clean and properly maintained; reports issues to management.

Position Summary: Part Time Position

Transports participants using company vehicle from home to daily community activities as needed. Carries belongings, opens doors, and cautions residents on steps and other objects in their path. Opens/closes and loads/unloads walkers and wheelchairs. Assist participants in and out of the vehicle, utilizing the wheelchair lift and/or stairs, if needed. Ensures residents are safely seated with seat belts secured. Account for presence of all participants when leaving or returning. keep the vehicle clean and properly maintained. Interact with participants in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of participant's health to management as appropriate.

Qualifications:Current and valid license and a clean driving record and a high school diploma or GED. Required to pass all pre-employment screening exams and PPD test. Excellent communication skills and experience with professional transportation is a plus.
