What you do
You will be responsible for driving a 26-foot box truck or sprinter van to deliver products promptly to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Drive assigned Company vehicles (26-foot, 16-foot box truck or sprinter van) and make deliveries.
- No CDL required.
- Examine vehicle daily for safety, malfunctions, damage, and maintenance.
- Maintain required records.
- Verify shipments against records.
- Load and unload Company vehicles.
- Consistently lift product weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain safe driving habits and follow Company safety policies.
- Report delays, accidents, and encounters with law enforcement.
- Perform other associated responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 Years' Experience driving/valid Driver's License
- No CDL required.
- Good driving record with no traffic violations within the last 7 years.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to follow geographic directions and read a map.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. constantly.
- Must be able to read and write in English as it pertains to the job and safety requirements.
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
- Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, such as railroad stations, plants, residences, offices, or within industrial yards.
- Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
