Job summary

Kingwood Pines Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is a 116-bed facility located in the Kingwood community, about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. It offers 24-hour emergency services and behavioral health care for all ages.

As a Driver, you will transport patients to and from the facility, keep the van log updated, coordinate with staff regarding care details, report vehicle issues, and maintain a clean, safe environment while upholding high service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of transportation services experience preferred.
• Must maintain a valid, class-specific Texas driver’s license applicable to the transportation of patients.
• CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for patients to and from the facility.
• Maintain a van log with updated addresses and phone numbers.
• Communicate with the Department Director and/or staff about patient care information.
• Report van maintenance problems to the Director, Outpatient Services.
• Maintain a clean environment for patients at all times.
• Demonstrate responsibility and sound judgment regarding patient safety.
• Participate in the therapeutic relationship with patients, as required.

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary

The Driver is responsible for operating facility vehicles in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner while transporting patients to and from the facility for scheduled treatments and appointments. The Driver is also responsible for assisting with ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained and ready for safe use by maintaining a high level of cleanliness and by conducting regular inspections and reporting any mechanical discrepancies and/or malfunctions. The Driver is also responsible for exhibiting the highest level of Service Excellence while engaging in continuous observation, interaction, role-modeling, and patient safety practices at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for patients to and from the facility.


• Responsible for the van log ensuring that the address and phone numbers are updated.


• Communicate and consult with the Department Director and/or other appropriate staff members regarding patient care issues and information.


• Report all van maintenance problems to the Director, Outpatient Services


• Maintain a clean environment for patients at all times.


• Demonstrate responsibility and sound judgment regarding patient safety.


• Participate in the therapeutic relationship with patients, as required.
