Job summary

Allied Alloys LP in Houston, TX seeks an experienced CDL Class A driver to support operations. You will prepare trucks, inspect conditions, maintain daily vehicle inspection reports, load and unload cargo, and ensure on-time deliveries while upholding safety and DOT compliance.

You will communicate with customers, resolve or route complaints, drive to weigh stations, and maintain clean vehicles in accordance with company policies and regulations. Flexible schedule may include overtime.

Qualifications

  • Safe driving record required.
  • CDL Class A license for the state of work.
  • Two years roll-off experience and flatbed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to meet DOT medical and drug testing requirements.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Create and maintain written records and service responses.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition and maintaining daily vehicle inspection report, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; validating adherence to road-ability standards.
  • Load truck by ordering, placing, and securing items.
  • Deliver items by identifying destinations; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule.
  • Serve customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints.
  • Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE.
  • Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization policies and state/local driving rules and regulations; clean truck exterior and interior.
  • Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations ensuring vehicle is properly loaded and load secured, and product is delivered safely and timely

Must be able to work a flexible schedule Monday through Friday, which may include some overtime, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications include:
  • A safe previous driving record.
  • Must have a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for the state in which the position works.
  • Two years roll-off experience & flatbed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
