At our Forest Ridge Senior Community, we have an opening for a Driver. (No CDL required) This positionprovides transportation for our residents. This includes shopping and events as well as maintaining the bus cleanliness and scheduled maintenance.
Schedule:
Full Time with some evenings and weekends required
Rate:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Drive residents safely. (Multiple Properties)
- Courteous interaction with residents, guests, family members and staff.
- Keep scheduled appointments on time.
- Prior to the first departure of the day, of van, fill out the Vehicle Pre-Inspection Checklist of all operating systems and report to the Building Maintenance Director if the vehicle fails inspection.
- Prior to every departure and before return, the driver will fill out the Resident Transportation log.
- The driver will:
- Make sure seatbelts are secured for all passengers.
- Make sure wheelchair strap tie-downs are used in securing wheelchairs.
- Make sure safety precautions are followed with oxygen containers by securing
- them in the vehicle.
- Be aware of the various exits available on the vehicle and assist riders in their
- use if emergency evacuation of the vehicle is necessary.
- Make sure the interior temperature of the vehicle remains comfortable even
- with varying outdoor temperatures.
- The vehicle will be checked by the driver as empty after each disembarkation.
- Clean bus as assigned, gather and dispose of waste.
- Adhere to the philosophy, policies and procedures as established by Forest Ridge.
- Must have a genuine interest in the needs of the elderly population, understanding the problems they encounter and have patience and tact in serving their needs.
- Acknowledge, comprehend and support the residents and the Resident Bill of Rights.
- Maintain confidentiality of both residents and staff.
- Maintain communication with the Building Maintenance Director regarding issues with residents, families, and/or staff.
- Comply with all required local, state and federal regulations.
- Attend and participate in committee meetings, trainings, in services, community events as required.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
- 1 Year professional driving experience required
- Excellent driving record required
- Must pass pre-employment tests and screening.
