About the Role

The role of a tilt-bed driver is a specialized driving position that involves operating a vehicle equipped with a hydraulic bed that tilts and slides to facilitate ground-level loading and unloading of containers, vehicles, or equipment. The driver acts as an independent operator, handling the transport logistics with the help of Omni View as well as the loading/unloading mechanics without the need for external cranes or forklifts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
  • Proven experience as a truck driver (minimum 2 years)
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation management
  • Ability to read maps and follow directions
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • NO major violations or accidents in the past 3 years
  • Possess a current TWIC
  • Ability and experience driving a Manual Transmission truck
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with local roads and delivery routes
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and repairs
Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operation: Operating a commercial vehicle requiring a CDL to transport goods safely over specified routes.
  • Operating Hydraulic Systems: Proficiently using controls to tilt, slide, raise, and lower the bed of the truck or trailer for ground-level offloading and loading.
  • Loading and Unloading: Driving or winching containers, vehicles, or heavy equipment onto the bed, or reversing the process for delivery.
  • Site Assessment: Evaluating potential pickup and delivery locations to ensure sufficient space, clear access, and stable ground for safe loading/unloading operations.
  • Load Securement: Ensuring all cargo is properly secured using chains, straps, binders, and twist-locks before transport on public roads to prevent shifting or movement in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, trailer, and hydraulic systems, and coordinating routine maintenance and repairs within Motive.
  • Documentation: Completing all necessary paperwork, delivery receipts, inspection reports, and driver logs.
  • Customer Interaction: Providing professional customer service at pickup and delivery sites, ensuring client satisfaction with the placement of the delivered item.
