Job summary

Univar Solutions is seeking CDL-A drivers to operate tractor/trailer and tanker vehicles, delivering hazardous materials and wastes in compliance with regulations. Duties include safety checks, using Samsara e-Logging and ePOD devices, and ensuring accurate paperwork.

Candidates must meet DOT and company standards. Eligible applicants will have HazMat and Tanker endorsements, 2+ years of CDL-A experience, ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions, and be 22 years or older.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, count, understand and speak English.
• Valid Class A CDL license (with HazMat and Tanker endorsements) and no restrictions.
• Ability to use and maintain respiratory protections equipment.
• 22 years old or older.
• 2+ years of CDL-A driving experience.
• Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission.

• Pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials and wastes

• Use onboard Samsara e-Logging Device to manage driver duty statuses and route sequencing
• Use ePOD device to capture customer delivery receipt and shipment documents
• Perform all other duties as required to make proper deliveries and pickups for customers

Primary Purpose

Operates and maintains company tractor/trailer/tanker to make pickups and deliveries. Transports hazardous materials and wastes in full compliance with applicable federal, state, local statutes and regulations and company policies. Position requires working tractor/trailer components, including bending and cranking landing gear as well as climbing in and out of cabs and sitting for extended periods of time.

What You'll Do:

• Pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials and wastes
• Ensure safety and compliance of load
• Use onboard Samsara e-Logging Device manage proper driver duty statuses and planned freight order delivery routing sequencing.
• Use ePOD device to accurately capture customer delivery receipt of goods and other relevant shipment documents
• Perform all other duties as required to make proper deliveries and pick-ups for customers

What You'll Need:

• Ability to read, write, count, understand and speak English
• Valid Class A CDL license (with HazMat and Tanker endorsements) and no restrictions

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions/Other Requirements:

• Physical ability to lift and carry at least 100 pounds, tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dolly and stand/walk for long periods of time
• Test negative on the company’s drug tests
• Satisfy all DOT physical qualifications requirements to qualify & maintain a CDL-A
• May be handling potentially hazardous substances
