Job summary

AP Precision Metals, Inc. in San Diego is seeking a Driver to deliver finished goods within San Diego County using a 25’ stake bed truck. The role requires clear communication, professionalism, and a focus on safety to represent the company during deliveries.

Job Title: Driver

Department: Shipping & Logistics

Reports To: Shipping Supervisor / Production Supervisor

Pay Rate: $22–$26 per hour

Purpose

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of finished goods to customers and vendors using a 25’ stake bed truck. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail, as the driver will frequently interface with customers and represent the company during deliveries.

Primary Duties

• Perform daily deliveries of finished goods within San Diego County using the company’s 25’ stake bed truck.
• Safely transport products to customers and vendors in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Load, pack, and unload parts with accuracy, ensuring product quality and preventing damage.
• Count and verify deliveries and shipments against shipping documents.
• Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal staff during deliveries.
• Represent AP Precision Metals in a professional, courteous, and customer‑focused manner.
• Follow all safety requirements, ISO9001 procedures, and company standards.

Additional Duties (as required)

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the stake bed truck and shipping area.
• Report vehicle condition and assist with basic truck maintenance checks.
• Interface with management as needed regarding delivery schedules, customer issues, or logistics concerns.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong English speaking and communication skills.

• Detail‑oriented and organized, with ability to verify and track shipments accurately.
• Previous delivery or truck driving experience preferred.
• Ability to perform light physical work, including loading and unloading shipments.
