Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Delivery Driver to deliver and unload seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet products. You will be the main customer contact, providing top-tier service while maintaining safety standards per HACCP guidelines.

The role requires adherence to DOT regulations and proper handling of perishable goods. Responsibilities include pre-trip checks, route driving, safe loading/unloading, collecting payments, and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One to two years of commercial driving is a plus; transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred.
• Customer service: Friendly, outgoing, and courteous demeanor.
• Work ethic: A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines with limited supervision.
• Licensing: Must have a valid standard license.
• Environmental: Available to work long shifts and Saturdays.
• Language: Basic English speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

The employee will act as the key point of contact for the customer and, in so doing, will provide the highest level of customer service. The incumbent will ensure that high safety standards are always maintained while operating Fortune Fish and Gourmet’s vehicle. Moreover, the utmost care will be applied in handling the company’s perishable products in accordance with HACCP.

The Delivery Driver will deliver and unload various company products, including, but not limited to, seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet products. The employee will act as the key point of contact for the customer and, in so doing, will provide the highest level of customer service. The incumbent will ensure that high safety standards are always maintained while operating Fortune Fish and Gourmet’s vehicle. Moreover, the utmost care will be applied in handling the company’s perishable products in accordance with HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries.
• Perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for the vehicle.
• Drive and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route. Ensure the vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs.
• Load and unload products from the vehicle using a dolly or other appropriate devices safely.
• Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of the product.
• Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the workday.
• Perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and completing any necessary documents.
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of the product.
• Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs. Report any complaints to the supervisor.
• Collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices. Ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) is properly secured.
• Ensure that safety training is current as per company policy.
• Supports the Fleet Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience – One to two years of commercial driving experience is a plus. Transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred.
• Customer Service – Friendly, outgoing, and courteous customer service demeanor.
• Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Licensing - Must have a valid standard license.
• Environmental – Available to work long shifts and Saturdays.

• A combination of the above will also be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and driving
• Regularly be able to lift up to 80 pounds; may occasionally need to lift over 80 pounds
• Requires constant mental and visual attention, as well as the ability to see well in limited light scenarios

• Must be able to successfully pass a Medical Examiner’s Certification.
