Job summary

Jacobs in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is seeking a Drinking Water Project Manager to lead multi‑discipline teams designing water treatment facilities. You’ll apply extensive water industry experience to solve complex challenges, guiding projects from desktop calculations and bench analyses to full‑scale operation and startup support.

The role requires a PE license, 20+ years in water treatment and design, and a bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering.

  • Support business development efforts and cultivate long-term client relationships.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

We’re seeking a Drinking Water Project Manager to join our teaminMilwaukee, Wisconsin. Someone who can use their vast experience in the water industry and apply it to today’s challenges. As a valued Jacobs employee, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve successful design of water treatment facilities and help lead clients to the correct treatment approach by utilizing desktop calculations, bench analysis, pilot plant operation, and full-scale operational troubleshooting. You’ll have the opportunity to work with conventional and advanced treatment processes, including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, granular media filtration, biological filtration, membrane filtration, disinfection (ozone, UV, chlorine), adsorption, and other treatment processes. We’ll rely on you to support business development efforts and help in the pursuit of new projects, as well as work directly with clients on the projects and tasks that you are leading, developing long-term client relationships. Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering
  • Extensive years of experience in relevant water treatment and process engineering, including water, wastewater, and reuse systems
  • Planning and design experience in water distribution system, including pipelines, pumps stations and storage tanks
  • Demonstrated understanding of drinking water supply, master planning, and treatment processes and technologies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Self-motivated, initiator; demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities
  • Professional Engineer, (P.E.) license
  • Over 20 years of experience
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Master’s Degree
  • Wisconsin experience is highly desirable

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $225,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
