Description

Brown and Caldwell (BC) is seeking a Process Engineer to support our growing Drinking Water practice. This role focuses on developing solutions for drinking water treatment challenges. BC fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and expertise, offering an inclusive environment that empowers skill development. Remote work is permitted, but proximity to an office is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams nationwide to develop solutions that protect public health.
  • Manage PFAS-related water treatment projects, including process selection and preliminary design.
  • Develop expertise in PFAS water treatment projects.
  • Coordinate testing of equipment and technologies.
  • Work with BC R&D on applicable technologies.
  • Review and prepare technical reports on water quality and regulations.
  • Evaluate treatment approaches for emerging constituents.
  • Present findings to clients and at professional meetings.
  • Support business development efforts.
  • Develop process design drawings, specifications, calculations, and other technical deliverables.
  • Participate in professional organizations.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in the drinking water industry, including familiarity with PFAS treatment, modeling, data analysis, and treatment planning or design. (Advanced degrees count as 2 years.)
  • Experience with full-scale or pilot plants, including GAC, Ion Exchange, membrane systems, and testing.
  • Interest in developing project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills for presentations and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE License.
Salary Range

The starting pay varies by location and experience:

  • Location A: $97,000 - $132,000
  • Location B: $106,000 - $145,000
  • Location C: $116,000 - $158,000
