As a Drink Runner, you help set the standards by which our restaurant is judged in your appearance, disposition, and attitude towards guests. You are always in full view of the guest. You only get one opportunity to make a first impression.

Good communication skills are essential. Your relationship with the staff is vital to the restaurant's operation. You must anticipate guest needs and communicate them to your service staff. You may also be asked to resolve issues independently.

A positive attitude at all times is crucial. When busy, we all make money; being busy is not an excuse to be unfriendly or forget to smile and acknowledge guests.

This position requires working weekends and holidays.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance according to Groot Hospitality standards.
  • Have full-time availability with flexibility for evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Complete side-work within the allocated time.
  • Have strong knowledge of classic cocktails and spirits.
  • Ensure glasses are clean, filled to the proper level, and garnished correctly when serving drinks.
  • Keep trays clean and organized at the service bar.
  • Know table and position numbers.
  • Ensure orders are fully completed before serving drinks.
  • Serve drinks and clear glasses from the right of the guest when possible.
  • Serve drinks to the correct person without auctioning.
  • Serve drinks according to seat numbers, avoiding auctioning drinks at the table.
  • Provide timely, friendly, and courteous beverage service.
Requirements

The requirements for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Patience and a customer-oriented approach.
  • Friendly attitude and good people skills.
  • Responsible and trustworthy.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
  • Mobility for at least 6 hours.

Teamwork is essential. Collaborate respectfully with colleagues and communicate effectively. Address issues proactively and do what needs to be done without being asked.
