Job summary

Apex Geotech Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide onsite support, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of drilling tools and equipment. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence in field environments.

Responsibilities include on-site tool installation, diagnostics, calibration, and collaboration with engineering teams to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of drilling equipment service operations experience.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of downhole drilling tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite installation, maintenance, and repair of drilling tools and systems.
• Support client drilling operations with technical expertise and safety.
• Conduct pre- and post-job inspections, including tool assembly, calibration, and functional testing.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to report field performance data and recommend design or process improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate job reports, field service documentation, and equipment maintenance records.
• Provide onsite technical training and guidance to clients and crew members.
• Comply with all HSE standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Travel frequently to drilling sites, sometimes on short notice, for extended periods.
