Job summary

Seaboard Drilling, LLC in Massachusetts is seeking a Drilling Apprentice to support rig operations and site maintenance in a full-time role based in Springfield. You will assist a certified driller, work with drill rigs, collect soil samples, and operate heavy equipment while following safety protocols.

Expect regular travel to short-term work sites with overnight stays, some night work, and a typical Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in all seasons.
• Willingness to travel regionally with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driller with drill rig operation and maintenance.
• Support soil boring, sampling, rock coring and measuring water levels.
• Install monitoring wells and instrumentation and operate safety-focused on-site tasks.

This is a full-time position, primarily M-F schedule. Candidate will work as a Drilling Assistant to support the operation of a test boring rig with an experienced Driller. Tasks include safely assisting the driller with all aspects of drill rig operation and maintenance including soil boring and sampling, rock coring, measuring water levels, installing monitoring wells, installation of instrumentation, carrying and handling tooling, and operation and basic maintenance of heavy equipment including drill rigs, medium duty trucks, trailers and ATV.

• Full-time position, primarily M-F work.
• Familiarity working with and around heavy equipment and operations.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy tooling and supplies up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in all seasons, temperatures, and conditions.
• Position will require regular travel to short-term work sites throughout New England, with regular overnight stays on weekdays.
• Occasional night work.
• Valid driver license required.
